Famous Artist Birthday – William Mulready

Happy April Fool’s Day!

Today is the birthday of Irish genre painter William Mulready, born in 1786. Mulready moved to London in his youth where he studied and learned painting. He was accepted into the Royal Academy School at age 14. He is best known for his works romanticizing rural scenes, and many of his works are held at the Tate Collection.
