To enrich the cultural landscape of Lemont by fostering the production and appreciation of the arts.
The Art + Culture Commission of Lemont has an opening for the position of Commissioner. The appointed Commissioner will serve the remaining portion of the vacated term: One year, beginning May 1, 2013 and ending April 30, 2014.
The duties of Commissioners include attending monthly meetings, assisting with gallery staffing, and helping to support and further the Art + Culture Commissions’ mission, “To enrich the cultural landscape of Lemont by fostering the production and appreciation of the arts.” Seven commissioners, along with several regular volunteers, work together to accomplish various goals, such as sending out newsletters, arranging classes and community events, planning and installing art exhibits, increasing community awareness through public relations, and fostering partnerships with various community entities.
