Lemont Center for the Arts

To enrich the cultural landscape of Lemont by fostering the production and appreciation of the arts.

Commissioner Opening

The Art + Culture Commission of Lemont has an opening for the position of Commissioner. The appointed Commissioner will serve the remaining portion of the vacated term: One year, beginning May 1, 2013 and ending April 30, 2014.

The duties of Commissioners include attending monthly meetings, assisting with gallery staffing, and helping to support and further the Art + Culture Commissions’ mission, “To enrich the cultural landscape of Lemont by fostering the production and appreciation of the arts.” Seven commissioners, along with several regular volunteers, work together to accomplish various goals, such as sending out newsletters, arranging classes and community events, planning and installing art exhibits, increasing community awareness through public relations, and fostering partnerships with various community entities.

Interested individuals should complete the application, found below, and return it to Lemont Center for the Arts, 1243 State Street, Suite 101, Lemont, IL, 60439. Attention: Mona Parry. Questions can be directed to lemontcenterarts@gmail.com.

We are always looking for volunteers! If you are interested in helping develop the art scene in Lemont, but are unable to make the commitment to serve on the Commission, please contact us or stop by any meeting – meetings are held the 2nd Tuesday of each month and guests are ALWAYS welcome!
