To enrich the cultural landscape of Lemont by fostering the production and appreciation of the arts.
What a turn out we had for our Third Anniversary Opening Reception on Sunday, September 8! Thanks to all the artists and art appreciators who came and made the event a huge success. If you haven’t seen the exhibit yet, be sure to stop in. The art will be on display through October 27, 2013.
For the first time, the Art & Culture Commission of Lemont offered a juried and judged exhibit with prizes. Judge Jerry Stefl was on hand at the reception, mingling and talking art. At one point during the reception, he spoke to the group, explaining his choices for First, Second, and Third place prizes. He spoke a lot about narratives, and mystery, and about wanting to know more about the story of the artworks he chose. Congratulations to the winners, and thank you to all the talented artists who are participating in the show!
