Artist of the Month March 2015 – Megan Lutz

Megan Lutz

Megan’s art is inspired by the world around her and the life experiences of herself and those she’s close to.  She works mostly in acrylic, graphite and charcoal.  She is strongly moved by the contours of the female body, the empty spaces and farms she grew up around, and the mysteries of human nature.  Megan believes in incorporating physical and tactile matter into paintings, and has a special place in her heart for art that encourages you to reach out and touch a surface.  She has a worrying obsession with color theory and colors in general, particularly the color green.
She has a very bright daughter, Juliette and two cats, Zenn and Mittens.  Zenn is feral rescue who spends his days hiding in her studio and waiting for his next mealtime.  Mittens is a female orange tabby who has the spirit of a dog and loves to pose for pictures.
In her spare time Megan spends time with her daughter, bakes, bartends, and adds delicious new pieces to her “Rusty Bits” collection.
